On December 10, 2013 Budapest witnessed a Conference under the aegis of the Saint Petersburg International Law Forum which was a closing field event of the Forum in the current year. The Conference was organized by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of State Management and Justice of Hungary.

Members of the Association of Lawyers of Russia took a direct part in organizing and conducting the Conference.

The Conference was dedicated to legal protection of investments in Central Europe. Participants discussed within three sessions issues of legislation, legal protection and strategic partnership in Central European region, issues of use of law as an instrument of investment development, economic issues in criminal law.

The guests were addressed with a welcoming speech by the deputy Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation Elena Borisenko and the State Secretary for Justice of the Ministry of State Management and Justice of Hungary Robert Repassi.

Speakers at the conference were Director of the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences A.G. Lisitsin-Svetlanov, deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Federation Council for constitutional legislation, legal and court matters and development of the civil society K.E. Dobrynin, deputy Chairman of the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation T.K. Andreeva, corresponding fellow of the Russian Academy of Sciences, ad hoc judge of the European Court of Human Rights V.A. Musin, judge of the Supreme Court of Hungary G.M. Molnar, director of the Department of special state projects of the Government of Slovakia A. Holikova, President of the Company General Electric (Hungary) J. Bauer, chief law adviser of the oil and gas group MOL P. Kara.

After the discussion the participants of the Conference expressed their interest to continue to discuss the raised issues at IV Petersburg International Law Forum to be held on June 18-21, 2014 in Saint Petersburg.

During the Conference E.A. Borisenko met with top officials of the Ministry of State Management and Justice of Hungary, Chamber of Lawyers of Hungary and Hungarian Notary Chamber.
