Report about a trip of the delegation of ALR to Sweden

The delegation made working visits to the following public agencies of Sweden:

1. District court of Stockholm. A meeting with a Presiding Judge Stefan Stroemberg. The delegation studied chief functions of the court, in particular characteristic aspects of claims for protection of patents and intellectual property were discussed in detail.

2. Ministry of Justice of Sweden. An official dinner was given in honor of the delegation on behalf of the Minister of Justice of Sweden Ms. Beatrice Ask.

3. General Prosecutor’s Office of Sweden. General Prosecutor of Sweden Anders Perklev made a presentation “Function and Structure of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Sweden”. Russian delegation took interest in the law on prosecutor’s office under discussion.

4. Court of Appeal of Sweden. The delegation was welcomed by the President of the Court of Appeal Fredrik Versel. Court officials told about peculiarities of legislation and judicial proceedings for economic disputes between large companies, functions and form of participation of state in adjudication of economic matters and about characteristic aspects of resolution of disputes concerning intellectual rights.

5. Association of lawyers of Sweden. The delegation was received by the General Secretary of the Association Anne Ramberg. 

The visit resulted in passing a resolution on cooperation of the Court of Appeal of Sweden with the Court for Intellectual Rights. The delegation on behalf of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation A.V. Konovalov invited top officials of the agencies with whom it had meetings to participate in the International Law Forum in June 2014.
